Adult Ministry

Senior Fellowship

Second Tuesday of each month, 2-4pm, fall through spring

A fun, lively once-a-month gathering where we invite presenters from all walks of life and community. We converse, tell, stories, learn a little, laugh a lot, sing sometimes, eat sinfully delicious desserts, and generally have a good time.

Lunch Bunch

Thursdays, 12:00 PM

A weekly Bible Study and prayer group. We bring a lunch and meet in the board room to “catch up”, discuss a devotional book series and talk about the upcoming readings for worship—usually with the pastor. This group is also our Prayer Shawl Ministry, knitting and crocheting shawls and blankets, praying over them and giving them away to anyone who might enjoy them.

The Women’s Book Group

Monthly meetings, fall through spring

Each month we select a book (from inspiring to dramatic to good fun) to read and discuss at our next session.

Youth Ministry

In the Homer Congregational Church youth groups, young people learn what it means to be accepted as well as to treat others with respect, compassion, and kindness, according to the teachings of Jesus. We trust that modeling the  love for one another that Christ teaches can change lives and change the world. We enjoy a range of activities which include mission and service, fun and fellowship, and living what we believe. In recent years, teens from Homer CC have taken part in mission work trips to New Orleans, Mexico, and Colombia. We are open to new experiences for service and mission—what, and where, calls to you?

Youth Groups and Sunday School

9:15 am – 10:30 am, September through June

Children are welcome in worship and at the Communion Table, and those in 2nd grade and younger may go to the nursery after the children’s moment. Confirmation classes are held for students in 9th grade and above, as preparation for adult church membership.

Youth starting at age 13 (and adults too!) are welcome to play softball on the Homer CC Legends, the funnest team in the Cortland Church League!
